Projects

As 2011 comes to a close and you consider holiday gift giving and end of the year tax contributions, we have wonderful news to report!  We are years ahead of schedule at our Gisenyi, Rwanda location. In the last 3 years, Gate OneSeventeen has overseen the following GRO projects:  the purchase of 8 acres of land for farming - now producing potatoes, onions and bananas, a fresh water well, a primary and secondary school which cares for the academic needs of the 800 Ndgenera orphans, 200 Compassion International children and students from the surrounding community, an on-site medical facility with state of the art equipment which has been approved by the Rwandan government, a pig farm and currently we are in the process of installing a Tilapia farm.  We had anticipated this project would take the better part of 10 years however, with God's guidance and grace we have navigated a much shorter path toward self-sustainability at this site.  

We are currently in the process of locating and establishing our next venue and are looking very seriously at some communities surrounding Bujumbura, Burundi.
